When you hire Wendy Mitchell Photography, you are hiring me - Wendy. I don't have an assistant or a second photographer or any employees. I do all of your photo work from start to finish. I do not outsource any of the editing, I do all of the book and album layouts myself, and I won't ever send someone else to cover your event or session. Because of this, I can only take a limited number of weddings, engagement sessions, family shoots, and newborn bookings per year. I want to make sure that each one receives the amount of attention it needs.
When we sign a contract for your wedding, it guarantees that I will hold that date for you and ensure that I am available even if your wedding day plans change - you might not realize how often people need to change their church or reception venue, or decide to do a "first look" after all, or something else causes them to need to change their wedding day timeline. Because I only book one event a day, if you were originally planning to have me from noon-10 and now it's looking like you'll need me to be there at 10am, just let me know asap! I do charge travel fees for any weddings more than an hour outside Buffalo, but my fees are reasonable and I rarely need to charge to stay overnight, unless your wedding is 2+ hours away.
If I will be photographing your family, whether that's 2 people or 15+, we can come up with a session length & cost that works for everyone who's pitching in. I generally don't include any particular products (large or small prints, gallery wrapped canvases, holiday cards) unless specifically asked, but of course I can always have these things made for you. All of my sessions (portrait or wedding) include all of the full resolution files with personal printing rights so that you can make your own prints at your convenience.
